This Ring Is On For Life!

Well I knew that this day would come… they day I would slide a ring on my finger and know that the only time it will ever come off is for surgery…

I have long boney fingers and big knuckles… I know what you’re thinking

“You should have listened to your mother and not popped your knuckles when you were younger”

Well guess what!?! I didn’t pop my knuckles yet they are quite massive… genetics!

As we were shopping for Cassie’s wedding ring I checked some out too…

MY knuckles are about a size 10 I believe… but my finger is loser to maybe a 7…

If I were to wear a 10 my ring would be spinning around my skinny finger like a hula hoop…

Yet if I were to try to squeeze a size 7 over my knuckles I would have skinned my finger and chipped away at parts of my knuckle and it still wouldn’t be on lol

So I compromised with a size 8.5… it could slide over my knuckle and not be too annoying once there.

All good in theory!

When the ring finally came in it was a bit tighter than I had remembered but it will have to do…

We had to force it on and the pain was manageable…

But to take it off… let’s just say it’s on for life… or until surgery haha

I now have a shinny circle on my finger its composed of carbon fiber and tungsten.

Since my wedding day I have…

Clanked it against glasses…

Hit it on my desk…

Pinged my car door…

It’s gotten caught on my pockets every time I grab something out of there!

I must admit I have had good days and bad days with my newly acquired extension.

The guys at work assure me that in no time I won’t even notice it!

But truth be told…

I always want to feel it… I always want to notice it… I always want to look at it…

I want to always remember the commitment I made to my wife

The commitment I declared in front of our friends & families and the commitment I made before God

This ring is on for life… And my commitment follows!
