Last week was a rough week along with me trying to prepare for my marathon that took place yesterday. Being stressed plays a huge roll in our energy level, mental capacity and even immune system. Those are all things I need to be at 100% for the marathon. Needless to say I started nixing things and only the top things on the list got completed. Sadly, the blog got pushed down the list because there was so much. But it is ok, because we are back!
While I was trying to stay composed throughout the week Ryan was doing his best to help me. At the end of the day he listened, he helped around the house (that is pretty typical though), he bought me some gear I needed for the race, and he even changed is workout schedule to be able to help more one evening!
I was completely overwhelmed. Situations arose, 2 large things were added to my plate in a matter of an hour, my time was already crunched. I needed sleep, but I needed the time to do work instead. I just didn’t know what to do. Ryan left the house that morning to get his first workout of the day in. He planned later to go ride after work and try this new time trial thing out. After I get done with my morning run I had a missed call from him. I listen to the message. He says that he is coming home after work and will ride at home on the trainer. This will be quicker and allow him to do some of the things we needed to do while I do some stuff I had to do. What an amazing sacrifice! He had been talking about this time trial for weeks and now he offered to miss it to help me. And it only happens every two weeks so he will have to wait 2 more weeks to be able to experience that. Man, I tell you he must really love me!
I am so thankful that my husband one is interested enough about my day that he knew I was overwhelmed and two that he loves me enough to be willing to make that sacrifice for me! Thank you, Ryan, for being the perfect husband for me! I couldn’t wait until Thursday to write about this so why wait! We can be thankful EVERYDAY!
Tell us in the comment box below what you are thankful for today!
